It appears to be some sort of CONTROL PANEL, judging by the fact that there are several buttons and dials, with a screen showing fields containing complicated-looking numbers. You also note that there are two large screens above it, though only one of the screens is currently active. The buttons on the control panel have familiar-looking shapes on them.
